Goyard, My Newest Obsession

For Christmas this year, my big ticket gift was a Goyard St. Louis PM, in black, of course. After first spotting one of these bags on the arms of teen girls like myself at Fashion Camp in New York last summer, I suddenly felt the desire to own one of these discrete, but very status-clad bags.

The problem with Goyard is that unlike brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci and practically every other business in the world, you can’t order online. The Goyard Website doesn't even offer a price list, which only even sparked my curiosity even more.

A quick Google search gave me all of the answers. However, what I learned came not from the brand directly, but from third-party sources instead. This every so slight sketchy aspect was not meant to drive consumers away, but pull people in. But, only pull in the people who really wanted the product and who understood what Goyard was really about. People like myself who will do anything and everything to latch onto something with meaning in the fashion world.

While I love the idea of brand exclusivity, when you live somewhere like Minnesota, a place that is practically ignored by the high fashion trends of a place like New York City, the ability to actually get my hands on a Goyard was near impossible had it not been for an overly helpful Barney’s salesman.

So far, the bag has been anything less than fabulous. I would totally recommend purchasing one of these things, because they won’t disappoint. The bag is so practical, and the size is perfect. Since

After reading a countless number of online forums that dated back to 2009, the height of Goyard celeb popularity, the greatest praise of the brand was that it wasn’t one that was being carried about by “stupid 'teen girls at the mall.” I’ve proudly toted my Goyard around the mall and the bag has been nothing less than perfect.

So, for those of you who are debating your next investment bag to purchase, my advice is to take the plunge and buy this one! While your credit card may regret it, you definitely won’t.
